I recently won an invite to a Juicy Juice Teasers Kick Off party and concert featuring YouTube cover artist, and Atlanta-Area native, Ryleigh Ledford. Yep, I won a contest, and you can win a contest too, keep reading for more info. I was excited to attend this event because it was featuring 15 year old Ryleigh. My 10.5 year old MacGirl is a pre-teen, and most events usually fall in the “too young” or “too old” category for her. But this event seemed like right up her alley, and it was. She enjoyed every minute of it.
MacGirl is hooked on YouTube, and since receiving her own cell phone on her 10th birthday, she has been on it more and more. She follows a lot of people and watches a lot of videos, so I do have to stay on top of her to make sure she watches appropriate stuff. We weren’t familiar with Ryleigh Ledford before but I’m glad we discovered her channel. Who doesn’t love rocking out and singing to the latest songs playing on the radio, but watching music videos add a totally different dimension. Unfortunately, most videos take you to a dimension you don’t want to go to, as they are inappropriate for kids & tweens. Not only is Ryleigh a great singer (she has sung the National Anthem at an Atlanta Braves game!) but she also makes wholesome videos that kids and tweens will enjoy and parents would approve of.
Ryleigh Ledford is also active in her community performing at fundraisers, local talent showcases and was named Citizen of the Week by the Dalton Daily Citizen. Ryleigh recorded her first CD, “The Covers,” by the age of 12 and is currently 15 and planning on showcasing her original work soon. She recently did an interview with Examiner.com and this is one of my favorite quotes from her “I know it may seem kind of crazy at first but if it’s what you love then pursue it. Do what makes you happy because you never want to have regrets in the future.”.
While we were at the event, we were able to sample the new Juicy Juice product, Juicy Juice Teasers. When you think of Juicy Juice, you think of juice drinks for toddlers and kids, but their new Teasers, made with a blend of fruit juice, decaffeinated and caffeine-free teas, is yummy for all ages (including tweens) and contains 50 percent less sugar than other popular juice drinks. Juicy Juice Teasers are available at Publix, Food Lion and Kroger stores in the Southeast, and select Walmart stores across the U.S. You can find more info at http://juicyjuiceteasers.com/
Want a recap of the event, check out this cool video!
I’d love to see Ryleigh at more live events, and I’d love to see more tween-friendly events and products. It was such a memorable night, made more so because we went home with an autographed photo and cd from Ryleigh, and what every tween needs in their life – a selfie stick! We also received coupons for Juicy Juice Teasers and a few more goodies.
And you can win some GOODIES too!
Favorite RyleighLedford video my daughter likes is Heart Attack!
